Lower Subansiri

 

The northeast of India, with its large network of rivers, is now termed as a "powerhouse of India". In Arunachal Pradesh alone there are plans to make 168 dams, many of them under construction, while communities, scholars and civil society groups express grave convern over sociatal and environmental impacts, as well as benefits to the region and its communities.
