This project collates images and testimonies of non-combatants who were caught in the theatre of war around the battles of Kohima and Imphal during World War II. These two battles, that took place in what is now the northeast of India, have been credited as Britain's greatest battles of the war. These images are of people whose lives were touched by the war in various ways.
